Who am I...
I'm Alexis Blondin, a passionate skier and CSIA Level 1 certified ski instructor.
My path as an athlete and tester
Before becoming an instructor, I lived the performance side of skiing. That experience helps me understand the technical limits of the gear:
- Competition: Former competitor on the French Ski Cup Big-Air circuit (mid-2000s).
- Expert tester: I contributed to official ski tests for reference magazines such as Ski Chrono and Alpes Loisirs.
- Press: My career as an athlete was featured in FHM, Ski Chrono and Alpes Loisirs.
- Sponsorship: I was fortunate to be supported by industry leaders such as Völkl (skis) and Columbia (technical clothing).
International professional expertise
Today, I share that expertise across two continents:
- Teaching: CSIA Level 1 certified instructor and Big Mountain coach in the Canadian Rockies (Alberta).
- Gear tester: I ski more than 100 days a year. I get to alternate between the Canadian Rockies and the French Alps to test gear rigorously and independently.
- Media: Field reporter at the Winter X Games and creator of specialized video content.

My ski experience...
I was fortunate to compete on the French Ski Cup Big-Air circuit in the mid-2000s.
I had several features in ski magazines as an athlete. I also took part in ski tests for Alpes Loisirs / Ski Chrono.
I was sponsored by major names in the ski industry for several seasons, including Völkl for skis and Columbia for technical clothing.
I eventually had the chance to teach skiing at a ski school and become a coach and Big Mountain judge in the Canadian Rockies (Alberta).
I even made a few short ski videos, and several reports from the Winter X Games.
...and a hiker
Living in the heart of the mountains, in summer I go hiking very often. Relaxed day hikes, or multi-day hikes with a lot of elevation gain.
Bivouacs and nights under the stars are also activities that thrill me. I try to share some of my hikes (many are still missing!).
Having the chance to discover nature in such a unique and vast setting keeps you humble and makes you want to roam the mountains even more.

All of the articles on ridepark.com are original and written in-house. They are written to share in-depth information, news, or photo and video content about skiing, hiking and outdoor activities.
Equipment content
Some articles highlight products, especially buying guides. The products are selected according to my choice and according to personal criteria that make me say that they deserve to be recommended and shared.
